Christian Gamborg on luonnonvaraetiikan apulaisprofessori Kööpenhaminan yliopistossa. Hän on tutkinut ympäristö- ja luonnonvaraetiikkaa tarkastellessaan muun muassa maankäyttöä, luonnonsuojelua, ihmisen ja luonnon yhteiseloa, bioteknologiaa, biodiversiteettiä, bioenergiaa, ekologista entistämistä, kestävyyttä ja metsän- ja ympäristönhoidon konfliktinhallinnallista puolta.
Christian Gamborg is an Associate Professor in Natural Resource Ethics at the Division of Environment and Nature, University of Copenhagen. The major part of his research has been within environmental and natural resource ethics in relation to land use, conservation, human-wildlife, biotechnology, biodiversity, bioenergy, ecological restoration and several other applied topics including sustainability and conflict management aspects of forest and landscape management, agriculture. He has written more than 45 peer-reviewed publications, 75 other academic contributions and more than 65 teaching and other dissemination related publications.

The Ethics of Hunting and Nature – How We Relate To ‘The Wild’
The hunting of wild animals, or what hunters call “game” or “live quarry”, for food and other animal products such as fur is as old as humankind. However, to the extent that the hunting is neither a life necessity nor justified by the need to manage wild animals, as is the case when animals are hunted for sport or recreation, questions arise over its moral justification. Part of the controversy is connected to our view of nature – how we relate to the ‘wild’ and ideas about how we ought to relate to ‘wild’.”
